Main Aur Mrs. Khanna is a forthcoming Indian Bollywood film that stars Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Ghan in pivotal roles. Directed by debutante Prem Soni, the film, which revolves around the theme of extramarital affair, is a joint production of Sohail Khan Productions and UTV SpotBoy Pictures. The film will be produced by Sohail Khan and Ronnie Screwvala, and is expected to release on July 3, 2009.
Plot

The film revolves around the story of Samir Khanna (Salman Khan) and Raina Khanna (Kareena Kapoor) who have a fairy tale marriage. Samir gets his dream job and they both have a great life until one wrong decision leads them to part ways. Kareena Kapoor falls in love with Sohail Ghan and he breakup with Salman Khan in the movie govinda plays the character who patch them up.

Production

Pre-production work began in mid-2007 when actors Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra were signed on to essay the lead roles in the film.[5] However, Chopra later opted out of the film due to date problems and the director was in talks with actresses Preity Zinta and Ayesha Takia.

In August 2007, producer Sohail Khan announced that the film's title was changed to Mr and Mrs Khanna, and was expected to go on floors in November 2007 with Lara Dutta being signed on for the female lead. Unfortunately, Dutta was dropped from the film for unknown reasons and rumors had indicated that Khan was in talks with Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The producer later confirmed the news to the media indicating that he had signed Kapoor for the film.

Sources have indicated that Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone will be making guest appearances in the film whereas Preity Zinta will be appearing in an item number but nothing is confirmed as of March 2008. However, in June 2008, the latter confirmed the news to the media explaining, "...it’s not an item song, really. It’s an interesting cameo and I’ve agreed to be in the film because the director Prem Soni is a dear friend."

On March 19, 2008, the cast began filming for the project at Film City in the outskirts of Mumbai and later continued shooting in Melbourne, Australia, where a pivotal scene was shot at the Sydney Airport. Upon shooting in Melbourne Australia, the cast later returned to film in Mumbai on June 15, 2008. In March 2009, director Prem Soni announced that the film had been completed.

London Dreams is an upcoming Bollywood musical film directed by Vipul Shah. How did VEER originate?

Well, Salman Khan had this project in his mind for past 20 years, i.e. even before he stepped in the Bollywood film fraternity. But since he made his mark in this diversified industry as an actor, the project went on hold for a long time.

Salman was so keen and passionate about the film that even when the film’s director and producer was not ascertain, the actor had approached the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt & Kumar Gaurav and narrated the story. Salman wanted these soaring celebs to be an integral part of the film. Initially, Big B, Sanjay Dutt and Kumar Gaurav had agreed on the colossal project, but as time took its toll, these actors couldn’t take part due to their prior commitments and other projects.

For past 4 years Salman Khan was trying his level best to get this project commenced as the market had develop or rather widened and the time was right to craft a big canvas film like Veer. Salman was all geared up to approach and assign the producers of the film, but due to the immensity of the project such as big budget, 6-8 months pre-production planning, shoot schedule and required approx 150 days for completion, producers were unavailable. None of the producers had time for such a huge project due to prior commitments and hence didn’t want to run a risk.

When fortune was not favoring Salman Khan, I put my foot forward.

Salman and I are close associates for the past 17-18 years. I was like a next of kin to Salman over the years. After last couple of years meeting on a casual note, I asked Salman about his dream project i.e. Veer. And after a year’s time I wanted to do the film with Salman Khan. Initially, the price or rather cost was not justified of the film. Later, I met eminent sitcom director Priyadarshan and had set up a meeting in Mumbai.
 
But the dilemma here was that, Priyadarshan wanted to stick to his forte and make a comedy film with Salman Khan, but on the other hand Salman had in mind the subject Veer which had a huge canvas with big budget, etc.

When Salman explained his project Veer to Priyadarshan, he backed out, as the film was unlike Priyadarshan’s other films. And hence, Priyadarshan said ‘NO’ to Salman’s Veer.

Just then, Eros came into the scenario as I had approached them to co-produce the movie Veer and Eros agreed to do so. And thus, the phenomenon titled Veer instigated.
